Salem Goes to Washington
Last week, Salem and other members of ESCA from across the country descended on Washington D.C. for 2024 Federal Policy Conference & Lobby Day to celebrate S ESOP companies.
The conference started with a tribute to ESCA champion Congressman Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) who is soon retiring. Former Congressman Ron Kind (D-WI), who introduced the first House S ESOP bill with Congressman Blumenauer was also there to honor him.
Other notable speakers from the U.S Congress included House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY), Senator John Thune (R-SD), and Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID)
Over the course of 2 days, 24 teams visited congressional offices from 42 states to advocate for the benefits of employee-owned businesses. One of those teams included Salem CEO Mike Willard and CFO Gale Marett, as well as Graham Roy with ESCA, Pamela Colley with Schweitzer Labs who met with our U.S. House District Representative Virginia Foxx.
